The management of Capital Smart City Islamabad, FDH under the consortium built by HRL, has finally teased Lahore Smart City by sharing a video on their official Facebook page. The Lahore Smart City is set to debut with a 20000 Kanal initial layout with extensions possible in future. The location of proposed Lahore Smart City is along the Lahore – Bypass road while enjoying close geographical proximity to Lahore Islamabad M2 Motorway and N-5 GT Road

The Background

Capital Smart City Islamabad was launched in 2018 to become the first-ever smart city in Islamabad. The main concept behind the smart city is to integrate digital and human aspects of life to make living more ergonomically viable. All smart cities around the globe work on an open-data sharing, collection, and deduction model. Future Development Holdings in collaboration with HRL and urban designers from various countries laid out the plan for developing the first-ever Smart City in Pakistan. The development of Capital Smart City Islamabad is ongoing with almost 15 to 20% of the work completed. Lahore Smart City – Location

The proposed Lahore Smart City is located along the Lahore By-Pass road within close proximity of the Kala Shah Kaku Interchange. This makes it a vital suburban location in Lahore that has easy access from N5 GT road, Lahore By-Pass road, and the Islamabad – Lahore Motorway. The society will also be in near proximity to the upcoming campus of UET Lahore. The Layout Plan for Lahore Smart City is under-process in LDA and more details regarding the location will be shared once they are made available.
